Gas Heater Servicing & Repairs

Regarding any gas heater, especially portable heaters, it is incredibly important to ensure that they are running safely. A faulty appliance can poison your entire home with dangerous emissions.  

By regularly servicing your heater, you can ensure that your home is safe when being used correctly and will operate efficiently. This will extend the overall life of the heater significantly.  

Dirt and dust build up, in your gas heater or fireplace, is often the cause of it cutting out or turning off, smelling a bit ‘dirty’ or filter lights flashing. In most cases, these issues are rectified by a general service that includes testing for Carbon Monoxide (CO) and gas leaks.   


If you are wanting to replace your existing gas appliance, then our team is able to give you expert advice on the perfect gas heater or hot water system for your needs.

We can walk you through the whole process from purchasing - installation - maintenance. 

We are also lucky enough to have a fantastic relationship with Rinnai and are able to sell their factory second/refurbished appliances when they are available. 


During winter the waiting period goes from 1-3 days to 8-14 days as we have everyone calling about their appliances all at the same time.  We receive many urgent calls for services or repairs on gas heaters and hot water units during these colder months.

GAS FIREPLACE SERVICING & REPAIRS

If you have a gas fireplace, it is important to have it serviced regularly, to ensure it is working safely and efficiently. We strongly encourage our customers to have their appliances serviced before the colder months take effect. As soon as there is a hint of the weather changing, we have everyone trying to get their fireplace serviced or repaired. If you have your fireplace serviced in preparation for the colder months, you can be sure that you and your family stay warm during autumn and winter.


Many people underestimate the importance of regular maintenance and servicing of their gas appliances, and that usually leads to costly repairs. Most manufacturers suggest that their gas fireplaces be serviced and tested every two years. However, if it is ten years old, or more, they will need to be serviced and tested every year to ensure it is running safely and efficiently. This will also extend the overall life of the fireplace significantly.

In most cases, these issues are rectified by a general service that includes testing for Carbon Monoxide (CO) and gas leaks. GAS DUCT HEATING SERVICING & REPAIRS

If you have a ducted gas heating system, it is important to have it serviced regularly, to ensure it is working safely and efficiently. 

This is especially important if you are registered for the Brivis Service Advantage scheme. Brivis offers an extended warranty from the standard 5-year warranty to 9-year warranty. To be applicable for the extended warranty your Brivis ducted appliance needs to be serviced every two years. The Brivis Service Advantage scheme applies to Brivis Ducted Heaters (except cc3* heaters) and Brivis Evaporative Cooling appliances. 


To ensure that your ducted gas heating is operating at its full potential, we recommend that you have a comprehensive service every 12 months. 

The need to have this done more regularly than other heating appliances is because your system is continually circulating air and the fan will get dust build-up. In most cases, they are used all year round, if you have the cooling add-on, unlike a portable heater or gas fireplace which is only used in the colder months. We will thoroughly clean the heater and ducted system, check the gas pressures and complete a carbon monoxide test to ensure your ducted heating system is operating correctly and not costing you more than it should.

GAS HOT WATER SYSTEM SERVICING & REPAIRS

When you have a gas continuous flow or storage tank hot water unit, it is important to have it serviced regularly, to ensure it is working safely and efficiently. This is especially important if you are registered for the Rinnai extended warranty servicing schedule. To be applicable for the extended warranty, your Rinnai Infinity or Builders Model continuous flow hot water unit will need to be serviced a minimum of every four years.


However, most manufacturers suggest that their gas appliances be serviced and tested every two years. Annually if the appliance is ten years old. This will also extend the overall life of the fireplace significantly.

 

Service and maintenance on your hot water unit are necessary to extend the life of the system and ensure it is running safely and efficiently. Our technicians are Zone Contractors for Rinnai and are experts in servicing, repair and the maintenance of gas and electric hot water systems.


If we get to the site and your hot water system is requiring repairs we have a range of spare parts to be able to address the common issues that arise. We also keep stock of brand new hot water system so we can quickly replace the faulty unit so that you are not going without hot water.

SITE VISIT TO QUOTE A REPLACEMENT

Hot Water & Heating has a dedicated team of Sales Technicians who can attend your home or business premises to view and assess your gas appliance requirements. 

We can then produce a competitive & comprehensive quote for the supply and installation of a new appliance. 


Alternatively we are able to produce estimates off plans that we can later confirm once available. These rarely change as they are based on the plans so it will only change if the plans have  significantly changed.


Between September-February (Spring/Summer), we offer free site visits to create a quote for the installation and supply of the appliance. No charge required within the Sutherland shire.

Travel may be charged if it is outside this area. Call us to find out if it is required.


During winter, due to the much higher volume of site visit requests we do charge $165 for a site visit but this amount is taken off the total amount quoted when it is accepted.
